Winter Phase

Winter of 05-06 was a pretty gloomy one. Raining as much as it snowed, it was a largely shut in period. Unlike Checking In, I had time to really work on these, to mull over them, and my creative energies were still running strong. A few of these songs were being shaped out in December but most of them came about after the new year, (Talking Over My Groove being largely inspired by a New Years Eve party I went to. I was listening to more Joni Mitchell and it was having a strong influence on my writing. Overall I think this is one of the strongest bodies of work I've ever written.
