Wall of Sound: Under Rug

Under Rug

There’s nothing to see here
Slight of hand… porcelain smear
We’re a happy family
Tetanus lockjaw smiling

(Chorus)
We’re just Momma and her papa’s babies
Momma and her papa’s babies
We’re just Momma and her papa’s babies
We’re just going down the drain
We don’t know how to complain

Sister got a bloody nose
Running down her Sunday clothes
Left the commune – ain’t coming back
Drinking Hades from a leaky tap

(Repeat chorus)

From the December 11, 2004 draft. My drummer liked Nirvana a lot. I was listening to Surfer Rosa a lot. A compromise was met. If recall correctly, I showed his the song on the same car ride where his dad told me about how vultures attack newly born calves and their mothers while they are defenseless, thus leading to the song "Some Strange Beauty."
