Ages of Cages: The Drop

The Drop

Sue is chewing her hair - twiddling her fingers at the drop
(Down at the drop)
She knows what's coming, but the time just lingers at the drop
(Down at the drop)
Across the street she see the children getting dragged around
Their parents' shoulders always sagging and their faces down
And she remembers those old shoes between he feet and the ground before the drop

Pan's down at the corner - doing tricks for quarters at the drop
(Down at the drop)
His birds of paradise have been lost to the mortars at the drop
(Down at the drop)
And he just got back from a hell disguised as Shangri-La
Where all the ever-trusting elders swim in cancer spas
And honor students in white lab coats sell sunglasses to Ra down at the drop

And I think something is going down
That's not just some hole in the ground
A kid with a handful of bloody dog tags
He say, "This should blow your top!
Look what I found down at the drop."

Sue is chewing her hair - twiddling her fingers at the drop
(Down at the drop)
She knows what's coming but the time just lingers at the drop
(Down at the drop)
Well the market's been bleeding through a hole in the floor
They say the only way to stop it's with a pointless war
I guess that we'll keep pushing boarders till they knock on our shores and make the drop

(Down at the drop)
Down, down - something's going down (down at the drop)
Down, down - something's going down (down at the drop)
Down, down - something's going down (down at the drop)
Down, down - something's going down - down at the drop!
