Ages of Cages: Rain to Snow

Rain to Snow

I knew a girl from Greenland
With a heart like a furnace
And she painted my sails with canvas killer whales
To protect me from the West justice
I kissed her on the forehead
I didn't want to let go
But then she sipped the bleeding tears from my eyes
And turned my rain to snow
She turned my rain to snow

I met a man in Romania
Who spoke with a helium voice
And he curses his friends who have all made amends
After pushing him to the wrong choice
Now he sits up their like a golem
Atop a great castle of cards
Watching all of the regal women laugh
Picking flowers in the courtyard
Picking flowers in the yard

And I lost a girl in Nevada
Where they milked all of her trust
Now she pays for her lust with these children of dust
Sleeping in a cheap sarcophagus
In her moth-eaten wedding gown
People sigh at her pretending to care
But nobody really looks at her
All they do is stare
Oh, all they do is stare
