At Dawn She Comes: At Dawn She Comes

At Dawn She Comes

At Dawn she comes
Like a promise forgotten
By a seeker who lays weary
On the shore where he begun

She will come wearing no diamonds
She will wear no mask of shades
She will come in simple clothing
Will elegance that never fades

Smoke rings hang in silence
‘Round the ever brooding face
Of the one who has forgotten
That with morning shall come grace

At dawn she comes
Heaven’s song inside a shell
And a glass tear to remember
That at night she’ll stay as well
